The Tanglewood Pickleball CrawlAs Pickleball players know, there are many ways to promote Pickleball in your own club and in the Pickleball World. The Tanglewood Pickleball Club has gained a great reputation for its Pickleball on and off the court. We held our first Invitational Tournament in November with our very own clowning routine to welcome player and lead us in the Tanglewood cheer. The club hosted the first ever USAPA sanctioned tournament in Florida on March 6 and 7, 2009. Our players did well and the whole club pulled together to put on a fantastic two day event hosting close to 100 players over the two days. Remarks such as, “best tournament ever” and “we will be back next year” were constantly being made.” Well, last Friday night we upstaged all other events by performing the first ever “Tanglewood Pickleball Crawl”. This performance was taped beore a live audience of 1000's, well at least 700, to a standing ovation. Patrick Hotchkiss worked hours reworking the lyrics to the Watermelon Crawl to fit in Pickleball terms and then recorded the song. Donna Donald then took Patick's work and choreographed dance steps and paddle movements to match the beat of the music and the words of the song. Here is the You-Tube performance of the Tanglewood Pickleball Crawl by the four lovely Tanglewood Picklettes, one handsome Pickler and one old nerd. As you can see, it is a Pickleball work of art. A first ever in the Pickleball World. It will definitely be watched by Picklers nation-wide from Michigan to Florida. Can you visualize Picklers in Singapore doing the pickleball crawl at their next Federation meeting. |
