High school abandoned tennis courts Lat: 38.526688 Lng: -118.633118 | Hawthorne Map | NV | Outdoor: 1 Public | Abandoned (almost no painted lines left, weeds) but decent concrete, fenced tennis courts between N end of high school and S end of elementary school, W side of A St. Nets are steel fencing with steel cable, 35" at center, usable, so we yellow-chalked lines, then added duct tape on outer edge. Best play is early morning during weekdays of school year, before 8:45 am, or afternoons (but winds come up, it's desert). Better than no courts. Town tennis courts on Armory Drive are badly cracked with lots of weeds, no nets. Best of 4 RV parks is Whiskey Flats RV Park on N end of town, W of the Safeway. Enjoy! Dave |

If you are unable to find a place to play pickleball, check out some of the links for places to play badminton. A pickleball court is the same size as a doubles badminton court. Just lower the net to 3 feet (34 inches at the center) and you are ready to go. Start your own group and watch it grow.
