In 2005, an agreement was reached that totals would start over every two years which was the first attempt to define a ranking period. Starting with 2007, the ranking year has been defined as a 1 year period from January 1st to December 31st. Also beginning in 2007, senior point totals will be broken down for the different age groupings and events.
