2009 Training Fund Rules The 2009 USAPA Training Fund program will provide funds to subsidize training programs for school students or local residents who are novices to Pickleball and do not belong to a Pickleball club. The fund has been established at $4500 for 2009 and is available to qualified applicants. Applications Applications
for
reimbursement of training funds may be filed at any time. They may be submitted by
completing this
survey form. Qualifications Applicants must be age 18 and older. Priority may be given to USAPA members. Training programs must observe all USAPA rules. Implementation Training funds will generally be paid on a first-come first-served basis and will be for reimbursement only. Training funds may be approved in whole, in part, or not at all. No advances will be made. When the funding for the current year is exhausted, reimbursements will cease until the following year. Expenses incurred for approvals in one calendar year may be submitted the following year if submitted within 90 days of approval of the application. Purpose Costs eligible for reimbursement include but are not limited to USAPA accepted balls, materials for measuring and marking temporary court lines, copying of lesson documents, containers for balls and equipment, temporary net and post equipment and office supplies. Paddles are allowable but because of the relatively high cost it is highly recommended that you solicit donations of used paddles from your local players. Exclusions from reimbursement include but are not limited to court usage costs, traveling expenses, labor and subcontracts, and insurance. Maximum Reimbursement The maximum reimbursement to any person or group is $200. However, under extraordinary situations, the USAPA board of directors may approve requests over $200 based on your documentation but in no event will exceed $400 to any person or group in a calendar year. Approvals will be valid for only 90 days unless an extension is specifically approved by the USAPA. Receipts after 90 days will not be honored. Expenses in excess of the maximum amount may not be resubmitted under a new application for reimbursement the following year. Miscellaneous Each December, the funds available for the following calendar year will be posted on this page. USAPA reserves the sole right to disperse training funds as it sees fit. All funding and reimbursement decisions by the USAPA are final and not appealable. |
