USAPA Training FundEffective immediately, the USAPA will provide a fund each calendar year to subsidize training programs for local training of School students or local residents who do not yet play the game and do not belong to any Pickleball club. Initial funds for the year 2008 will be $1,500 and are available now.Funds will be available only to USAPA members on a first-come first-serve basis and will be for reimbursement only, not in advance of expenditures. When the funding for the current year is exhausted, reimbursements will cease until the following year. Applications for approval of reimbursements received after the annual funds have been exhausted will not be honored. Expenses incurred in one calendar year cannot be resubmitted the following year. Costs eligible for reimbursement include USAPA-accepted balls, materials for measuring and marking temporary court lines, copying of lesson documents, containers for balls and equipment, temporary net and post equipment, related office supplies, and other like minor costs. Exclusions from reimbursement include but are not limited to court usage costs, paddles, traveling expenses, labor and subcontracts, insurance or other liability. The maximum reimbursement to any person, group or affiliation in a calendar year will be limited to $100. Funding requests must be pre-approved by the USAPA Training Committee Chairman before bills are submitted. Original purchase receipt documents must accompany reimbursement requests, not with the request for pre-approval. No other documents will be accepted. For extraordinary situations, the USAPA board of Directors may occasionally reimburse costs over $100 based on approval of request documentation but will not exceed $250 to any person or organization in a calendar year. Each December, the funds available the following calendar year will be posted on this page. Click here to apply for approval of training expenses. |
